Two of My Favorite Things: Wanderlust & Photography
Chonté
Costa Rica — June 2016
My favorite place to visit so far has been Costa Rica. I absolutely loved my 7-day Caravan tour. We got to see so much of the country as opposed to just staying at a resort the entire time. Our guide was knowledgeable about her country and ours. Our accommodations were immaculate and the food was amazing. Beyond that, I loved the culture and shared the majority of their values. I find myself measuring every travel experience against Costa Rica because… ¡Pura Vida!
Shanghai — April 2018
China holds the record for being my farthest trip and is also significant because it was solo. I loved the experience and I learned a lot just by observing. Their transportation system is far superior to anything I’ve seen in the states. I was able to navigate on my own. Through my experience, I gained empathy for people who come to the United States and don’t understand the language. We don’t make any accommodations to make it easier but yet there was English all around Shanghai.
St. Louis — August 2018
As much as I love to collect stamps on my passport, there is plenty for me to see in the US. August was a busy wedding month for me. I drove to North Carolina and New Jersey but I made a trip out of the wedding in Ferguson, Missouri. I met up with a couple of friends in Chicago and drove to Missouri the morning of the ceremony. We stopped by our Airbnb to change. Following the wedding, we decided to explore Ferguson and St. Louis the following day. We ate a lot of great food, checked out the arch, and a museum.
Jamaica — December 2018
My favorite in the adventure category would have to be Jamaica. It was a four-night trip to Montego Bay. We stayed at Hilton Rose Hall Resort and Spa. It was all-inclusive so we had plenty of fun at the resort. We planned an excursion day in Negril where we rode horses, ATVs, and went ziplining. We finished the day by watching the sunset and grabbing drinks at Rick’s Cafe. I may have jumped off of a cliff and posted the video on my Instagram for #flashbackfriday so make sure you’re following @deferreddreams1
Spain — July 2019
I can go anywhere and have a good time, but Spain was not my favorite. We did not have favor on this trip at all and there were a few things that did not go as planned. My hop-on, hop-off tour experience salvaged the trip for me. I used it to get around and explore Barcelona for two days. Spain is a beautiful place but I wasn’t impressed enough to want to spend the money to visit there again. Be sure to check out my blog, Ibizalona to get a more detailed recap of my trip.

Where Should I go next?
The impact of the coronavirus is felt around the globe. I look forward to resuming my travels once it is safe to do so.
